I am looking for some shoes for fall winter and here are my requirements.
-I need to be able to wear a sock without it looking stupid.
-They need to be ok to get wet.
-They need to work with jeans and cords (not too dressy).
-Flat or low heal
-Brown color family
-Not boots but booties would be ok
-Under $100
-Not Dansko clogs (got 'em and I'm looking for something a bit dressier than that).

I know we have some fantastic shoppers out there so I'm excited for what you suggest. :wink2:
Thanks

hmm...i'm stuck on "ok to get wet" and "dressier then danskos."

i usually wear ballet flats (but no socks) or tall boots. but if its raining, i wear my rain boot ALL the time outside, and change inside.

:cheerleader1::cheerleader1::cheerleader1: I have the perfect shoe for you!! :cheerleader1::cheerleader1::cheerleader1: (Well, at least it is for me. I have the navy, planning on adding the gray and maybe the brown this year. LOVE, love, love these shoes. They aren't "dressier than a Dansko, but they're more interesting IMO.

More than your $100, they're $139. Come in a couple of colours. The heel doesn't look higher than the others you posted

I guess I mean no leather soles or suede or something else that is too delicate to get wet. I'm good at avoiding puddles and if its really bad I'll wear rain boots but its always raining here in the winter so if I only wore rain boots I wouldn't need any other shoes. Keens with their thick soles work well but I'm trying to find something little prettier than keens.

Those are cute and the heal is fine. Thanks, maybe I'll find a coupon. I really do need to stay under $100.

There might be similar boots. It sounds like you have a casual shoes, so maybe a dressier ankle boot. Have you looked at DSW?

I have these in two colors and love them--not sure if they are a little dressier than what you are looking for but I think they fit your requirements for the most part. I wear them in our rainy weather and they do well, the soles have quite a lot of traction.

Do you know how they run? They have the size up and the size down from me and 6pm doesn't have free returns.

I have these oxford in the taupe color and they seem really nice... sort of a funky Anthro/ menswear-inspired vibe so maybe not for everyone...

The sole is actually rubber/plastic which I don't love as the black edge has started to rub off to the brown sole below though this would actually make it qualify for not being a leather sole. Not sure how the rest of it would stand up to real wetness (the leather is really nice for the price, also seems to be a true leather lining... quite breathable) though I walked through our grass right after the sprinklers were on and it dried without spots or anything.

True to size, I wear my usual size, with thin socks or footies. Not sure I would buy a full size up from my usual size in these without free returns, maybe you can find them somewhere else online.
