Hi guys,

Does anyone have good recommendations for a bath assist that isn't bulky or take up tons of space? We've been using a Leachco bather but it's finally sprouting a tiny bit of mold and Miss Mopey is too tall for it.

I don't have the space to store so anything collapsible/hang-able for a tall 16 lb. six month old for the next few months?

Many TIA :)

We received this as a gift-
http://www.amazon.com/Munchkin-White-Hot-Inflatable-Duck/dp/B000066665
and DD LOOOVED it! After that, I gave a few of them to friends and they also loved them as well. It is a great, inexpensive tub that can be used for a long time! Oh, and the bath time pictures in this tub are just precious :).

We started with the Leachco Safer Bather too. After DS1 outgrew it we just started holding him in the shower. So much easier than having something laying around to bathe him in and when we travel we never have any problems bathing him. He stands in the shower now that he is older.

I sent one of these ahead to my mom's when DD and I had planned to be there for a 2-week visit before DD learned to sit up (4 months old-ish) and it was great.

She does great in the shower, though, so holding Baby in the shower with you is definitely an option. (Actually, it's my preferred mode of bathing DD since she climbed in with me when she was around 15 months old. It would have been even better if she hadn't been fully clothed at the time, but whatever.)

We used an inflatable tub for DS, as well. Loved it.

We used a Primo Euro tub. Great investment, got it on CL for $10. I am sure you can find one in your area.

The Munchkin duck bathtub is pretty popular. Here are a couple of other options though:
1) Infant bath seat (http://www.amazon.com/PRI-Infant-Bath-Seat-White/dp/B000BXJZDY/) -- basically just a plastic piece that supports your baby in the bathtub
2) Flexibath bathtub (http://www.amazon.com/Prince-Lionheart-Flexibath-Foldable-Bathtub/dp/B004NRNSNC/) -- for a collapsible/foldable option

We used the duck tub as well. It is great to travel with.

I used this with my younger 2 kids and really liked it. It folds flat for storing too.

It's nice if you plan to have more kids because you can sit the baby in with the older one and bathe 2 together.

Thanks for all the great ideas everyone!

I am tempted by the foldable Lionheart tub but Miss Mopey is already 27 3/4" long at six months. Is it too much to hope that she'll fit in something for another year?

Yes. Babies grow & change fastest in their first year or 2.

Frankly, as soon as she's able to sit up on her own, you can skip all the baby tub business and bathe her in the regular tub. If you're afraid of slippage, add a tub mat, non-slip suction "decals" or fold a beach towel & sink it to the bottom of the tub to sit her on.

I was JUST thinking this! A rubber mat for the tub and maybe extra support for now :) She's getting VERY good at sitting up and loves the bath so I think it could work to keep it simple.

Thanks!

We went straight from baths in the kitchen sink to baths in the regular bathtub when dd could sit up on her own. I think I climbed in with her the first few times, but after that I just put her right in the big tub on her own.

I had something similar to this: http://www.amazon.com/Especially-Baby-Sea-Creatures-Sling/dp/B004VS00G6

I got it at walmart and it was only $5 at the time.

Looks like there is a foldable option (http://www.amazon.com/Summer-Infant-Fold-Store-Sling/dp/B005EHEJ0G) as well if the extra few inches would help. The unfoldable option is not very big and I just left it outside the tub to dry between baths.
