I'm a first time mom and trying to figure out what changing pad to get. I plan to put it on top of a dresser. What has been your experience with different changing pads? Which ones do you highly recommend?

Thanks.

We used one of the contoured ones with DS and I plan on reusing it. It worked well.

We just used a standard changing pad. Worked great on top of the dresser. We never fastened it down or did anything special but only used it for the few minutes it takes to change a diaper.

Just used a standard contoured pad on a dresser. It is starting to get tired but has been used for 6 of the past 8 1/2 years, so it had a good life.

I also changed a lot of diapers in my laundry room on my dryer. I just used an old bath towel folded in 1/4s and that worked great too.

I just had a contoured pad as well. Best investment I made was a dozen hand towels from Costco for about $12. I put those on top of the changing pad. It made it a lot easier to take on and off for the laundry. I put the pretty changing pad cover, then the towel. Sometimes, they both got soiled, but for the most part, it was very convenient. HTH!

I got the organic contour pad (naturopedic maybe?)
It probably wasn't worth the cost but I love it

We had a folded beach towel before setting up our Kooshie, which doesn't appear to be made any more.

We also got the organic contour pad. It's made by Serta, sold exclusively at BRU: http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2953121. Ours is secured to the top of DD's dresser. We have a soft changing pad cover for it and then on top of that, we have the laminated changing pad from the Skip Hop Pronto (http://www.amazon.com/Skip-Hop-Pronto-Changer-Diaper/dp/B000F1SCJK/). Love that it's easily wipeable.

Truth be told, I prefer to change diapers on the floor, so I actually use the FuzziBunz Mattress Pad (http://www.amazon.com/FuzziBunz-MPFLEECE-Mattress-Pad-White/dp/B002OL1UC0/) folded in half on the floor of her room 99% of the time.
