I found this pin on Pinterest and I think I want to try it......but thought I'd check here first! Has anyone done this or something similar??

it looks like an awesome idea. My DH and I (and sometimes DD1) love to eat salad, but it seems like we never get through a bag before I have to throw it out......But to have it ready in a jar, that stays fresh for a week!

I was thinking of starting with a handheld machine from freshsaver.

not too pricey at all and then I just have to buy the attachment, which is $10, and the mason jars.

and BTDT??

Now I want to try this also! My DH takes salads almost daily so this would make it so much easier for him. We have a foodsaver, both the handheld you linked, and a regular one. I do not have the wide mouth attachment, so am looking into this now.

I have a food saver that I use a lot but I haven't done the salad thing. I love it.

I have one as well as well as the wide mouth mason jar attachment. Not only lettuce but washed berries and grapes last a log time in the mason jars. I out a small square of paler towel at the bottom of the jar. Also works well for dry stuff in the pantry. I get half gallon Mason jars at ace hardware.
