I'm going on a trip and need some mindless, silly books to read. My normal go-to author for vacation is Nicholas Sparks, but I've read everything he's written :bag

Any recs? I tend to like love stories and sappy stuff. I read "On the Island" by Tracey Garvis Graves and LOVED it.

Maine, by J. Courtney Sullivan
Tigers in Red Weather, by Liza Klaussmann
Seating Arrangements, by Maggie Shipstead (not really sappy or lovey, but a good beachy read)
The American Heiress, by Daisy Goodwin
City of Women, by David Gillham

I liked:

* Gods Behaving Badly (http://www.amazon.com/Gods-Behaving-Badly-A-Novel/dp/0316067628) (Marie Phillips)

* The Undomestic Goddess (http://www.amazon.com/Undomestic-Goddess-Sophie-Kinsella/dp/044024238X/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1349288990&sr=1-1&keywords=the+undomestic+goddess+by+sophie+kinsella ) (Sophie Kinsella)

* In Her Shoes (http://www.amazon.com/In-Her-Shoes-N-A/dp/B008BLIPZ2/ref=tmm_pap_title_0?ie=UTF8&qid=1349289010&sr=1-4) (Jennifer Weiner ... though this isn't as fluffy as the others)

You might also try the Heather Wells mysteries by Meg Cabot, the Shopaholic series by Sophie Kinsella (formulaic, but still fun, IMO).

This doesn't fit your criteria, but I recently read Rob Lowe's autobiography, Stories I Only Tell My Friends, on vacation and LOVED it. It was a perfect vacation read... I was sad to put it down and couldn't wait to pick it back up. He has so many interesting stories to tell and his life has been quite a journey. Had to put in the recommendation when I saw the thread!

Totally mindless and gooey, I recently read "That Boy" and "That Wedding" by .... crap, I can't remember. Dodd, I think her last name is. They are in that "not YA but not 'adult'" category. It's a love story about two neighbors who have been friends forever. I laughed, I cried, I stayed up until 4am to finish it... and then bought the sequel ("The Wedding") the next day, and had it finished in 2-3 days.

"The Undomestic Goddess" (Kinsella?) was great too.
