Princess/Prince Figurines

I have the Melissa and Doug Deluxe Folding Castle

and am planning on giving it to DD for her birthday or maybe saving it for Christmas. Can anyone suggest figurines for it? I am not in love with the Melissa and Doug ones. Bonus points if they are made of a safe plastic or wood! Thanks!!!

The Papo line - kings & queens, soldiers and knights, princes and princesses. Schleinch makes similar figures. I get some at AC Moore (use 40% off coupon) and I've got some on ebay too.

my daughter has the other M&D folding castle and it's currently on the floor of the playroom with a bunch of the polly pocket sort of princess dolls ....so i believe that's mostly what my kiddo uses. playmobil also gets used with it. and the M&D people it came with :)

i find my child is much more flexible about building inhabitants than i am :):):)
