Question about Skylanders

DS1 has Skylanders for the wii. He wants Skylanders for the 3DS as well. Are they the same game on both platforms? I know some of the other wii games that have ds versions as well are different on the ds, and I'm wondering if this is true with skylanders as well. I don't want to drop another $60 on the game if it's exactly the same as the wii version.

I am pretty certain the games are not the same, but similar. I am not certain if you know this, but the next game, Skylanders Giants, is being released on 10/21. The figures from Skylanders can be used on it, but there are going to be a bunch more figures (some will light up, some are "giants", etc).

Yes, I have Giants on his list too. He's kind of skylander obsessed :)
