I am going to take advantage of the 40% off Lands End code (expires today!) and buy myself a new wool coat (http://www.landsend.com/pp/womens-luxe-wool-pea-coat~227379_59.html
). I would like something other than black (but I do know that black is soo useful!).

This is me (although I think the photo, which was taken with my phone at work makes me look a little washed out, which I don't think I am--a bit more golden than the photo makes it look like)

Don't worry about the ship dates I probably won't even have a chance to wear the coat until mid November, if not early December anyways.

(please don't quote photo as I'll probably remove it once I have made my choice)

I love the garnet color! My second favorite is the charcoal.

Garnet or atmosphere if your complexion can pull it off.

I like the camel color "vicuna". I think it is the most timeless, would look lovely with your coloring and would be a good neutral.

My coloring is similar to yours, though I have dark hair. I once had a wine-colored wool coat that I loved. So I vote for garnet.

I love the Garnet! The Vicuña is a close second.

Garnet - I have one in that color and it looks great on almost everyone!

I bought a very similar LE coat in the garnet last year and love the color, but I have a darker complexion. Like the charcoal and vicuna as well. And I have to say....don't write off the white (it looks more like cream)...I have a cream cashmere coat from the 60's (it was my moms or grandmothers) and it always looks chic, I think.

I ended up getting it in charcoal heather. Thanks for all of the help.

You can put so many colorful scarves with that color! It'll be very pretty!

I do love you SoCal girls....when I lived there I'd see so many people wearing wool coats, I'd about die wearing something that heavy, I can only wear a wool coat if it's in the 20's or below!

It gets colder here (some mornings it is in the 30s, and we go to Arrowhead a few times in the winter as well) than it does in San Diego unless you live out off of I-8. I don't think I ever wore a wool coat in college....ever when I lived there. I wore my leather jacket a lot though.

Last year I ordered a LE Squall Parka and it was too much so there is always a chance that it might be too heavy even though it isn't insulated.

I decided on the charcoal because that is the wool coat I am replacing it with and I figured it wouldn't cause that much of an issue with DH because he'd think it was the same coat. ;)

I also already have a true red pea coat as well. I really wanted the burnt orange swing car coat, but it was OOS in my size.

I like the camel-colored one for your coloring (and I just think it's a classy color), but I can understand you wanting something closer to black. :)

Hey, I've worn my down parka that goes to my calves a couple of times if we're going to be outside all day on a cold day. Usually it's my Michigan/Colorado winter coat ($50 at Costco in Michigan). But DH says I have thin blood - slight breeze and I'm pulling on a cardigan.

I just love teasing you gals...I grew up in Ottawa, Canada, now that's cold! Loved it when I walked to high school and my eyelashes froze with my blue mascara....ahh the 80's!
