I was searching to start using something on Mopey as the weather is turning and she's getting bigger. I found an old thread that gave some answers but was advised against bumping it so here's the new one. From what I read in the other:

Which kind of Vanicream does everyone use/recommend? Does it smell like anything? I'm also really interested in some organic coconut oil for the Miss but what brand? What state?

TIA!! :)

Fewer baths= best option here. Otherwise, we had some CA Baby lotion that was fine.

If she needed it, I used either this Lavanila lotion:

Or this baby oil (Burt's Bees Baby Bee Nourishing Baby Oil):

The Lavanila stuff is pricey, but I only needed a wee little bit at a time. It's not greasy, has a very light, powdery scent and didn't trigger any of my allergies. A bottle will last us over a year.

I bought a full-sized bottle of the oil last winter and it's still mostly full, because you don't need to use a ton of it & it absorbs very readily.

If you've got your heart set on coconut oil, go for it. A tiny dab of plain from anywhere you'd buy food (though the one sold by Trader Joe's is organic and fairly inexpensive ... but if you're not near TJ's, it'd be a nuisance) would be just fine. Since it's the only natural oil that's a solid at room temperature, you should be fine if you store it correctly. (I would be cautious about the glass jars, myself, but more than that, no problem.)

If DD got dry skin from the weather, I would use jojoba oil or coconut oil.
