Dd was recently evaluated and the audiologist found that she cannot understand muffled words at all. She is also hypersensitive to sound in one ear. She recommended 2 programs in her report--Earobics and Fast Forward, both of which are very expensive. Any one have any experience with this or other suggestions? Thanks!

I've only heard of Fast ForWord because I actually contacted Dr. Paula Tallal, one of the co-creators, for a research question while working at the information center for my college (Rutgers)

You can learn more about her research at her profile page on the RU site:

She was also profiled in the Winter 2008 issue of the alumni magazine:

I'm sorry I'm not more help, but I don't have direct experience with the program - I just asked a ton of questions while I was a student-worker in the late 90's because the program sounded very interesting. I wish I could tell you it was worth the money or not!
