Frontier - can the front overhang the car's seat?

I'm trying to install in harness mode in a vw jetta and the back seats are narrow and sloped. I'm getting a super crappy install and the front overhangs so I gave up for now. I read the instruction manual a few times yesterday but didnt see any info on it.

Yup, it's fine. That seat even hangs over the front of my big ol' captain's chair!
