Thinking about putting this on our "family" wish list for Christmas. Will my 5 yo be able to play it, or is it too old for her?

Can she play Uno? Its harder than Uno but uses the same skills (matching shape and color plus adds pattern). DS got it last year but really is only starting to get good at it this year. He's 7.

We play without scoring. I find the scoring was making it too hard. DS1 got it at 6.5 and it was fine. My younger kids haven't played it.

My 5 year old (who does not have a ton of patience/or love for games) can play Uno but I am sure Querkle would be too much for him. DS1 liked it at age 5/6

We own it but haven't played it. I looked at the directions one day and decided it was pretty complicated... My girls are 6.5. I plan to bring it out one weekend soon.

We love Blokus though!

I think it's a lot harder than Uno. You have to remember that only 1 shape per line can be used for a color line and if your piece touches 2 lines, it has to follow the same rules, etc. We had difficulty getting it all straight at first. My 4 year old plays Uno, but there is no way he can do Qwirkle.

Hmmmm, sounds like it might be something we should wait on for a bit. If she tries it and doesn't like it or if it'd too hard, there's no way she'll give it a second chance when she "grows into it". off to look for some other options.

I was looking through the Mindware catalog and thought you could add Q bitz to the list. My kids can all play it and we just change up rules slightly to even things out.
