I know I should be very grateful for how well we weathered the storm, but we just spent Halloween in a dark, cold house, eating pasta with jarred spaghetti sauce. I let the kids eat Halloween candy for dessert- we had plenty since there were no trick or treaters. We didn't even carve pumpkins as ours had rotted. The kids were so good about it, just said "Halloween's cancelled, right?" They did't get upset about it. They didn't even put on their costumes-actually DS1 couldn't since his never arrived in the mail.

Aw, poor kids. Maybe you and some other families should have a belated Halloween party when things get back to normal. I'm sure your kids are not the only ones who felt sad this yr about sandy messing up Halloween.
