DH had the dc for an entire week by himself while he also had to maintain our business while I was gone taking care of my mother. I told him to survive however he needed - really.

So, the dc watched A LOT of tv. Now that I am back, it is a daily battle to get them to stay away from the tv. I really did mean that if he needed the tv to help him get through this, to use it. I guess he took that to heart. But now, dc think they need to be attached to something electronic (tv, computer, ipod, etc) every moment of the day and it is driving me batty!

Ah, de-tox time always sucks. We've had those after extended periods of time at Grandma's. Especially hard when you didn't get to do anything fun while gone, so you are already on empty.

Good luck. Usually takes the same number of days of routine as messed up to be back in the groove. Although the first two or three days are the hardest.

Send them out east for a few days - no power = no TV. They'll get over the addiction real fast.
