DD4 will be 3.5 months on Chanukah. Basically she needs nothing, since this isn't an age where babies do very much. I might get a crib activity toy (even though we're currently cosleeping in my bed) like a mobile or something that sings.

DD (16 mo) is getting:

PBK pink all in one kitchen from my parents

From Santa:
some new play food since ours is very well-used from the boys
Green Toys tea set
PBK doll carriage
Maybe a new Corolle doll (doesn't need it but LOVES her babies)
Doll cradle
Books
A few packs of pacis since those are her most prized possessions!

DD will be 16 months at Christmas.

I'm not confident of my choices, but I DO have stuff chosen.

Little People house
Ikea Poang child chair
Little Tikes Push and Ride Doll Walker
This "Rain maker" toy that she absolutely LOVES every time we go (probably a stocking gift)
Homemade bracelet (also stocking)
Little purse
kid-sized broom
Brother's hand me down Wedgits.

I'm looking for things to put on a list for the relatives. That Leapfrog picnic basket looks appealing!
M&D Magnetic Hide and Seek board?

My daughter just turned 2, and based on what she liked, I would get the following for the 0-2 age set:
Expensive Toy
FP Learning Home: definite, definite winner. She liked this starting from 6 mos and still playing it now;

Highly Affordable Toys! My daughter's favorite toys are balls, in general I don't thing this age group requires spending of huge sums to please.
* Megabloks up to 20 mos (I would lean toward this over Duplos for this age group as Duplos are smaller and require more coordination. If your child is past 20 mos, I would get the Dupos as they are more fun and versatile);
* V-Tech Rhyme and Discover Book, especially if your child is around 1 year (Great traveling toy);
* A baby doll, especially past 18 mos;
* Animal puppets. We have a highly affordable owl puppet from Ikea. http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/00216095/ One of her favorite things!
* Roger Priddy board books such as My Big Animal Book, especially if getting to an age where the child is learning to talk. http://www.amazon.com/Big-Animal-Book-Board-Books/dp/0312511078 My daughter by herself loves spending 10-15 minutes practicing the vocab words found in these books.

Dd2 will be 13 months at Christmas

We do want/need/wear/read gifts, so -

want: a bunch of little people sets, still deciding which ones

need: double layer fleece blanket for the car

Wear: pettiskirt, baby legs, hair bows (from the halo heaven sale)

Read: planning to buy some blank board books and let dd1 and DS make books for her http://www.amazon.com/Ready---Go-Blank-Board-Book/dp/1571209972/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1353904808&sr=1-1&keywords=blank+board+book

I am thrilled by the animal puppet from Ikea and will be checking those out when we go next weekend to start babyproofing!!

Other than that, I'm sure our families will go a little nuts so this is what we are giving Mopey since she will be 9 months just before Christmas and has stood up on her own (for 5 seconds give or take) four times this week. I think she will be walking frighteningly soon:

http://www.amazon.com/Plan-Toys-51230-Baby-Walker/dp/B000FZQL6W/ref=sr_1_12?s=baby-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1353182036&sr=1-12&keywords=walker

Plus it looks like it has eyes, which seem to mesmerize her :)

ETA: also this probably - along the it-has-eyes line....

DD will be 20 months old at Christmas. Her big gift this year will be a play kitchen, I'm so excited! We got this one from Ikea: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/S49874533/

I also bought their pots and pans (I couldn't pass it up for $5!!) and utensils:
http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/00130167/
http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/80130168/

I picked up this Green Toys cooking and dining set from HomeGoods a couple months ago:
http://www.amazon.com/Green-Toys-Cookware-Dining-Set/dp/B0015466LM/

I also have a couple M&D food sets that I bought on clearance last year from Bloomingdale's:
Cutting box: http://www.amazon.com/Melissa-Doug-487-Cutting-Food/dp/B000GKD09C (for $7!)
Pizza: http://www.amazon.com/Melissa-Doug-167-Pizza-Party/dp/B0000658L4/ (for $6)

We still LOVE our LeapFrog cooking pot too, if anyone's looking for recommendations for littler ones:

My mother bought the owl one for my DD's 1st Christmas. She loved it because it was an owl - she'd hoot at it and everything.

I got one after seeing rave reviews.

Personally -- I'm not liking it. Yeah, they are indestructible. But they don't seem suitable as books at all.

They aren't cuddly like cloth books (which rarely get used as books, but get held and loved on). And they are hard to hold open to "read" when a little one wants to hold on, they just crumple.

Ha! Crazy :)

Well, now I'm not sure thanks to the honest review from vonfirmath.....

Mopey loves her crinkly fabric book but every time we read to her she just tries to eat and rip the pages (successfully last night!) so I thought this would work for snuggle time like they say in the description....

Not that she needs any more stuff of course. Torn....

What about the Lamaze books? They're soft and I think they're well made. Amazon is running a special: spend $35 get $5 off through December 1 (http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html/ref=amb_link_366167022_4?ie=UTF8&docId=1000847001&plgroup=1&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=right-top&pf_rd_r=0NXF7J9WJ1Q87SN0BXJ4&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=1430472882&pf_rd_i=350393011).

Otherwise, for "toddler-proof" books, I actually like some bath books we got from the dollar section at Target earlier this year. They look just like this (http://www.amazon.com/Sesame-Street®-Bubble-Featuring-Monster/dp/B003TT3B9G/). They probably don't have them now, but they might bring them back later. Just an idea.
