3DS - XL or not?

DS1 wants a 3DS XL. He has a DS Lite right now, which has a small screen, even compared to the 3DS. Is the bigger screen really worth it? It seems like there are a lot of deals on the 3DS and not so much on the XL version.

That's what my DS is getting for Christmas. He really wants the XL, and he thinks it's much better. I too have been looking for BF deals, but haven't seen any on the XL.

Best Buy has the XL for $179 this week. TRU has it for $199 with a $20 gift card. I haven't seen better than that.

My mom bought it today at Target. There is a coupon to use for $10 off $100 in electronics. Price match to $179.99 with the Best Buy ad. She has a Red card, so another 5% off. It was $161 plus tax. Without the Red card, it'll be $169.99 plus tax.

When she printed it, it was only valid today. I don't know if it expires today or if it's only the valid the day you print and you could do it tomorrow.
