Kids Christmas music?

Do you have a favorite cd? I'm wanting something with classic songs that DD1 will enjoy.

Honestly... The Time-Life Christmas Treasury is the BEST. I'm a purist when it comes to Christmas music, and I prefer the old stuff (Perry Como, Andy Williams, Mitch Miller) to the newer Mariah Carey and others things. I just like the musical arrangements better.

If you can find a copy of the set, I highly recommend it.

Just found this on amazon for $3.99... it's definitely geared toward kids (kids singing the songs) but the selections are all classics and the arrangements are simple and traditional. Not bad for a kids' CD and for the price.

I was also thinking about getting the Chipmunks Christmas album, pretty sure it's a remastered version of the one we used to listen to as kids. Just as something fun to throw in the mix.

This was always my favorite as a child.

My absolute favorite Christmas album is the Muppets with John Denver.

It's the first cd we put in on the day after Thanksgiving and crank up the volume really loud. And sing along.

When this plays the kids know it's the holiday season. ANd they can then give me thier christmas lists.

That was my very own record (you remember, those flat round things that were bigger and more easily scratched than CDs) when I was a kid and it is the very first CD I play to kick off the Christmas season. :)

I got this as a gift when I was in college...it isn't Christmas without this album. I cried when my CD went kaput last year...then DH got me an early present and replaced it!

Thanks for mentioning the Muppets album. I've never heard of it, but just downloaded it from Amazon for $5.99. My kids and DH will love it!
