Advent calendar - what to put in it?

I got the PBK Advent calendar and now have no idea what to put in it! I have a few days covered with activities like bake cookies, see Christmas lights, visit Santa at mall, that kind of thing. I will do candy a few days but I want to do a couple of small toys. DS will be easy with a small car or animal but DD is almost 9 so I have no ideas for her. I thought about buying a small Lego set and separating it.

What about a tiny nail polish? Or hair ties? Or a cute piece of costume jewelry?

I'm keeping a list on my phone for ours, it is charging now so I'll update in a little while...
