I am ... ashamed. Truly, I'm completely ashamed. As a child of the 80's with the big hair and shoulder pad photos to prove it, I really should know what to do here. But I have a BOY, not a girl. I can build big hair for him and put on beginner blue eyeshadow and Silver City Pink lipstick and find something hot pink, but that won't be a good look for my little boy. I am having a seriously hard time with coming up with something. Help!

Note: I can't go to any stores, this is for tomorrow, so I have to make do with what I've got in the house.

Any jeans you can peg roll?
Any polo/izod type shirts you can flip up the collar on (preferably pastel)?

leather jacket, white t-shirt, and jeans (Top Gun)?
punk?
Karate outfit (Karate Kid)?
Any 80s band t-shirts or retro cool icons - pac man, snoopy, etc?
Any little beads and safety pins to make friendship bean pins to put on shoelaces (maybe boys didn't do that?)

hmmm....

rolled up sleeves on a button up short-sleeved shirt? And a blazer?
Cosby sweater?
skinny leather tie?

I think skinny tie preppy type, or tight jeans with grean/black striped tight t-shirt, or punker. Do you have any old 80s rock tshirts? Or can you get one? That, pegged skinny jeans and converse all-stars would work. Bonus for a studded belt/bracelet.

80's concert t-shirt
Oxford shirt with polo underneath with collar turned up
Michael Jackson zipper jacket
Friendship bracelet made from embroidery floss
Docksider type shoes
Members Only jacket

He could go with various looks from the 1980s

Miami Vice - blazer over T-shirt
80's big hair rock band
preppy - izod shirt with collar up (think of the rich preppy kids in 16 Candles)
break dancer - parachute pants
Michael Jackson - Beat It jacket, glove

I grew up in preppy-land (Grosse Pointe MI) so that's my perspective.

I would layer 2 polo shirts with collar up, and then peg roll the jeans, no socks.

I would do the preppy look - layered polos with collars up.

:yeahthat: Bonus points if one of the polos is pink ;)

Ok, I'm going for the polos and peg rolled jeans. I'll see if Ican get him to wear the converse, tho they're not hightops. Thank you for all the suggestions!

Some of these you might be able to pull off from what you have at home:

I didn't grow up in MI but that was exactly what I was going to suggest right down to the no socks. I have my old swatch watch that would finish that outfit out perfectly.
