I'm thinking about getting a subscription for DD. I've never seen one IRL, though and was wondering if anyone thought they were worth it for a 6yr old. She's a great reader, but I want to make sure the subject matter is suitable for her age and not someone a couple years older.

In my opinion, 6 is a little young. My DD is 8 and just started getting it and there was one issue with some "boy talk" that I ripped out. There are also a lot of articles about friendship issues that are for older "tween" girls. I would go with something else like National Grographic Kids for a 6 year old advanced reader.
