DS (19mos) can breach the leak-proofness of any sippy cup and it's getting frustrating! I think he sees it as his personal mission in life to conquer them. lol He manages to shake and bang and bite etc till they leak. I feel like we've tried everything. He prefers straw cups, esp funtainers like his big sibs use but he holds them upside down and shakes till they're empty if I'm not watching him. :/
Has anyone found something that will not leak no matter tough a kid tries? Straw or spout is fine. I just need something he can use while we're in the car or in the stroller without ending up drenched.

My DD loves to spill the water but she can't do it with these. If she shakes it enough a drop may come out but nothing like the other cups we've had.

tommee tippee from BRU did the trick for us. We used the sippies for milk and the staw cups for water.

Thank you! We tried the playtex and they leaked but they were an older set that was left from DD so maybe I should try a new one and see?

Re: the Tommee Tippee, I've looked at the brand but didn't try them yet. Are these the ones you're using?

We use the older ones, as the newer ones were not out.

DD likes the a soft spout of the Gerber cups http://www.amazon.com/Gerber-Graduates-Starter-Handle-Horizontal/dp/B002UXQRMU/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1353366982&sr=8-3&keywords=Gerber+sippy, but these fit in the car seat cup holders.http://www.amazon.com/NUK-Gerber-Graduates-Learning-10-Ounce/dp/B004OZ0NUO/ref=sr_1_13?ie=UTF8&qid=1353367184&sr=8-13&keywords=Gerber+sippy

Update: We've been in illness hell lately so haven't been to BRU lately but saw these in singles at walmart a few weeks ago so grabbed one to try - love that I was only out $3 if it didn't work rather than $7 and stuck with 2 more cups! THESE TOTALLY WORK! DS bangs on his chair, shakes, and tries his darndest but absolutely can NOT get more than a stray drop here and there. I also love that they are a little more like a cup since he can't chew the "spout" as easily and maybe it will help him learn to use a regular cup easier? I also notice that now he's banging the cup less, even when he has a non leakproof one (while this is in the dishwasher - need to go get more of these and toss the rest!). I think the lack of leakage is somehow making him lose interest in trying. Yay! Now if only I could figure something out for our thicker breakfast smoothies, we'd be golden. Thanks so much to everyone for the suggestions.

Those look very similar to the Tommee Tippee ones we used. It was your second leak above. I'll have to remember these ones for DS 2.

So glad they worked out!!!! I use an insulated straw cup or a tervis with a straw for smoothies, but I only allow smoothies at the kitchen table. They all know that they're dead meat if I catch them walking around with a smoothie. I have only had to take it away from #3 once or twice for her to get the message. She will do ANYTHING for a smoothie, including sitting at the table. :ROTFLMAO:
