My 'family' stuffing recipe contains sausage and is cooked in the bird. I don’t eat meat and really don’t want DD to eat stuffing that has been cooked in the bird. We are going to family’s (about 2 hours drive) for Thanksgiving. I would like to make a vegetarian stuffing to bring to Thanksgiving. That way, I can eat stuffing and also give it DD (and hopefully avoid having to defend my decision not to give her in the bird stuffing). Any good recipes? TIA!!!

I would just buy one of the Mrs. Cubbison's "dressing" boxes.... saute finely chopped onion in butter, boil finely chopped carrots and celery in vegi broth till soft .... pour the cooked vegis and broth into the butter and brown onions ... then pour it all over the bread cubes and pop in the oven. When not cooking in the bird you will want to baste your stuffing with broth every 10 to 15 minutes to keep it moist .... when cooked through just let cool and cover with foil. when you arrive at your destination just warm in the oven.

I was looking at the products offered and the new mutigrain stuffing with cranberries sounds yummy! If you like cranberries you might consider that one!

DH makes this stuffing every year, it's fantastic.

It reheats very well, we travel with it often.

Are you going to have oven space at your destination? I would check with the host and see if they have room for another dish.

I don't know how well it travels, but I love this crockpot stuffing (http://crockpot365.blogspot.com/2008/11/crockpot-corn-bread-stuffing-recipe.html). It only needs 2 hours to cook, so if you're going to get there early enough you could cook it there.

I love the Sunset Magazine artichoke and Parmesan stuffing but I've only made it at home.
