Update post 33****

I am so sad right now. About a month ago we adopted a rescue dog and we have all fallen madly in love with her. She's a prissy, sweet, funny little dog. Today she was acting normal and suddenly she vomited. Then she collapsed. She became lethargic and listless. I held her, and while in my arms she pooped. DH and I immediately took her to an emergency clinic and on our way there she had a bloody stool.

The vet tells us it looks like it is anaphylaxis - an extreme allergic reaction to something. All the test results are very bad. She's now hospitalized, on IV fluids and will get a plasma transfusion soon. I am devastated, I love this dog a lot and DS ADORES her. We all do, but I know that if something happens to her DS will be heartbroken.

Please send positive thoughts my way, because right now I am only having very sad thoughts.

Thanks everyone for your support. I came back from the hospital and she is doing much much better. They will be performing another test at 1 pm, and depending on the results she might come back home with us this evening.

Thank you so so much for your kind words and support. Our dog is back home!!! She's a bit weak but feeling well, we think. I'm amazed at her resilience. She almost died two nights ago and now she's almost completely back to normal.

We don't know what she reacted to. That's scary, because we don't have a way of preventing it from happening again. The vet told us in most instances is some sort of bee- a wasp, hornet, etc. Only thing we can do is check our backyard to see that there aren't any bees nests.
