Pocketful of Posies by Sally Mayor. The illustrations are beautiful.

I really love the Barefoot Books' Mother Goose Remembers (http://www.amazon.com/Mother-Goose-Remembers-HC-CD/dp/1846860032/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1353348918&sr=8-1&keywords=mother+goose+remembers) illustrated by Clara Beaton. It comes with a CD - a keeper!

I don't have the Barefoot Books Mother Goose, but I love the other books we have that Clara Beaton illustrated.

My mom who's a retired children's librarian is partial to this one:

and a friend with other children gave us this, DS is too young for it right now, but it's fun!

Scott Gustafson.... SERIOUSLY. my MIL gave me this one and one of fairytales....there is a funny story-- typically my MIL gives TONS of gifts...some good, some bad. apparently at the point when these books were gifted, i was at a "MIL gift" limit with DD. So my husband SHOVED THEM UNDER THE BOOKSHELF.

i was cleaning one day and found them. i was enchanted! i asked "when did we get these?" and he fessed up!

it's hard to explain the pictures-- they are sorta modern? but still classic. there are all types of kids represented, and of course all the magical things you'd want in a mother goose book :)

i also always liked the sweet pictures in sylvia long's book:

we don't have that one though...because the one we have is so wonderful!

For our family Richard Scarry's Mother Goose was a treasure.
