So we're thinking of getting ds (age 7) a full size keyboard (ie, something that will fit in our tiny apt) for christmas, and I know *nothing* about what to look for, what's a good price, etc. We want to start him with piano lessons, and he's pretty musically-inclined. An actual piano is off the table at this point in our lives.

Brands? Prices? How serious do we need to go to get a good one that's not outrageous? Headphone jack a must. :)

Thanks!

ETA: thanks for the help! We ended up going with the Casio CDP-120 during the Black Friday sale that elbenn linked to. It ended up being $212 shipped, which is a great deal.

Roland makes great ones. Weighted keys (hammer action) are best, because they feel most like a piano. Will try to post more later, when I can.

Bumping this up so we can look for a Black Friday/Cyber Monday smoking deal. :) Thanks!

There's a deal on SD for a full sized keyboard.
