Up on Amazon now. It's a LeapPad1, and I'm torn. Should I hold out for a deal on the 2? Or is this good enough (DS has nothing to compare it to.)

That seems like a lot for the LeapPad1 when we were getting it for about that price last year before Christmas.

honestly I would hold out for the LeapPad 2. The ability to use a charger with it is a big deal. You will spend more in batteries in a year than the cost of waiting for the LeapPad 2 and getting the charger.

I thought the Leap Pad last year was $100 and sold out in many places before Christmas? DD1 got one for Christmas from my aunt and she enjoys it. We bought an extra set of rechargable batteries to use with it, because between this and the Wii remotes, we go through a lot of batteries!

Yes, it was around $99 last year before Christmas. Not sure if others got it for cheaper in some special deals in November last year, but in December, the retail price was around $99.

I think I would go for the 2 unless you find the 1 cheaper. A few days ago Kmart had the 1 for $36ish I think.

there was a deal at Barnes and Noble. I got it there for $59.99 last year. Maybe $69?

it just seems like the 2 is what the 1 was supposed to be if they hadn't rushed to get it out for Christmas last year.
