I think this thread (http://windsorpeak.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=446364) is about the same deal. Some discussion there about whether it would be better to hold out for a deal on the Leappad 2.

we bought dd the leap pad 1 last yr. and it has been great for her. imo i think saving the $40.00-$50.00 is a great savings! for us there seems to be more then enough memory and all but one of her games have been apps.. she also has lots of pictures and video on there. it really is a great device.
