Unit blocks are $35 with the sale - that's not much more than they are when you find them at TJMaxx etc.

Can you tell me about the unit blocks? I just bought a set of 100 Kid Kraft ones from Marshall's yesterday but I think they may be a lot smaller. Are these something special?

Unit blocks are made to a set scale so the sets can be used together. There are plenty of wood blocks that are not "unit blocks" if that make sense.

Costco also sells a set of 64 unit blocks. I think they are around $20

ETA I found a set of 100 Kidkraft blocks on Amazon. They don't look like they are unit blocks.

Ah - yes that does. Thanks! I pulled the trigger. I got a Nilo train table off Craigslist (thank you to Corie who posted that a few months ago) and wanted to get some blocks that both DD and DS can play with as a big joint gift for Christmas. Done and done!

oh wow this is awesome thanks! i am getting the alphabet stamp thing for DS...he was fascinated with the set i have in my craft table, and this is perfect!!

and anybody have the piano?? the price looks really good...i'm thinking of buying it for my DD. they've had a plastic pianos but this looks pretty cool. woudl love to get the kids interested in music.

i will probably get something for my 3yo niece too...they have a lot of toys but IMO a lot of them are plastic crappy stuff so i'd love to get her something nice from M&D. for those of you with 3yo girls, any suggestions?? (eta: i got her the ice cream scoop set. i cannot resist magnetic stuff, i think that looked pretty cool).

Have any of you seen the unit blocks at Costco this season? They are 19.99 and I got some for DS. Any idea how they compare to the M&D ones?

People have mentioned them in the past. I believe they're supposed to be good. I was very close to buying a set for DS yesterday to add to his M&D regular and architectural sets.

The ice cream set is awesome. If you are looking to stock the gift closet it is a great one! My 3-year-old DS got one at Christmas last year and still plays with it (he will be 4 in Feb).

The piano is great. My kids played with it from 6 months through 4 years. Now we have a real piano so it is not getting as much attention as it used to. It is still part of their travelling band though.

I ordered the giraffe for my friend for her giraffe obsessed DD who is 12! She didn't want that big a box shipped to her house. At least my DS who is 2 will have a new play house!

Great deal! I bought the Pirate Chest (http://www.amazon.com/Melissa-Doug-2576-Pirate-Chest/dp/B000ARW60U/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1353438416&sr=8-2&keywords=melissa+and+doug+pirate)for DS2. It's been on my list at $23 for a while now, and $15 is great! I added the Geek Dad (http://www.amazon.com/Geek-Dad-Awesomely-Projects-Activities/dp/1592405525/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1353438506&sr=8-1&keywords=geek+dad)book to get over $25 to use my $5 promotion from yesterday. My total for the 2 items was only $21, so less than the Pirate Chest was at full price!

What is the $5 promo that a few of you are referring to? I shopped on Amazon yesterday, but don't recall a $ 5 promo. Just want to make sure I don't miss out...thanks!!

I also loved the piano...can't wait for my girls to see it...they will love it!

There was a Facebook app to install and if you did, you got a $5 off your next order of $25 or more.

Thanks! Got the play dough molds. We have the tiger, puzzles, pirate chest, food sets... All great toys. My daughter just turned 4 and she played with those floor puzzles all year. She would like the ice cream too.

50% off select toys.

Buy for your kids. Buy for birthday presents! There are some good deals.

FYI: Michaels is doing B1G1 free for Melissa and Doug on Th, F, S and they have coupons for entire purchase that stack on top of that: Thursday 4-11 is 30% off, Friday 7am-noon 25% off, Saturday 8am-noon 20% off.

So, you could get as high as 65% off if you venture out on Thursday if you're into that kind of thing. 62.5% off if you wait for Friday.

Of course, they have a limited selection but I am thinking of going there to get some of the food toys.
