Solid vs clear magnatiles

Decided to get some magnatiles based on all the good reviews here. I have a 20% off coupon at a local toy store but they only have the solid colors in stock (and won't get any more until feb.). I had planned to get the clear ones. How do they solid compare? Would you get them or wait and hope to get clear ones on a deal somewhere else?

I like the clear ones because you can build things like tunnels and see the cars as they drive thru. DD's getting a solid set for Xmas to go with the others. Have you tried Lakeshore Learning? They have a way to get a coupon right now. Check out their website :)

Clear is definately better.
