Science something for 9 y.o. Under $20

My mom is looking for one more thing to give ds for Christmas. She liked the idea of a science kit or similar. Any suggestions?

DS enjoys his pocket microscope. He bought it at a gift shop somewhere and I don't see it online, but I know there are others.

I second this. They have the BEST stuff, and it's different and unique. My kids love his science stuff way more than any other we've tried (and we've tried a lot).
