We always get our tree over Thanksgiving weekend. I just remembered that I threw away our stand last year. I'll need to run out to get one on Friday or Saturday. Where should I go? I'm willing to pay a bit more if I can avoid the really crazy crowds. TIA

Last year, I bought a tree stand from the tree seller.

We used to have one of those generic plastic tree stands and really disliked it. One year they had these pretty scrolling metal ones at Home Depot and we decided to buy it. Still using it years later ... it's holding up great!

I would look for something like this

http://www.amazon.com/Contech-Enterprises-TS9405-Indoor-Christmas/dp/B0016IYJDE/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1353548584&sr=8-7&keywords=metal+christmas+tree+stand

or this

http://www.amazon.com/Jack-Post-Decorated-Powder-Coated-Christmas-1-6-Quart/dp/B003IX0B5A/ref=pd_vtp_hg_3

Here Home Depot has this one that says order online and pick up from the store

Or this one (if you buy BIG trees)
