ISO Canon Lens Deal

My Canon Rebel DSLR kit lens broke and I would like to replace it ASAP. Any deals? I don't want to spend more than $300, and I want something basic -- no telephoto or wide angle. I only have a 50 mm that works. Everything I'm seeing is just as expensive as buying a new camera.

I have checked Craigslist and haven't seen anything locally.

For the kit lens I'd check ebay. People often buy the kit because it's about the same price as the body alone and then sell the kit lens to recoup some of their cost.
