Has anyone tried the Bar Method? There isn't a studio near me, but it sounds like the Bar Method Advanced Dancers DVD has good reviews. Has anyone tried this or the class? Did you like it? I'm just looking for something a little different to try.

Thanks!

I just joined a new, local Barre3 studio. I'm taking classes 3-4x/week. My SIL lives in Vancouver, WA, and she swears by Barre3. She looks great, so it works for her. So far so good. I'm anxious to see what the results look like after a month or two.

There's one Barre3 DVD, and the workout is about 40 minutes long. Barre3 also does online classes. I think it's $15/month. That might be a good option for you if you want to try it out.

What type of equipment do you need to use to workout with the DVD?

I have tried Bar Method and I really loved it. It takes so much to make myself go and do it..im very far from that mindset right now, but when little DD starts preschool I plan to work out there again. I really dont know how it would be doing the workout with the DVD though...

I ordered the Barre3 DVD from their website (https://clients.mindbodyonline.com/ASP/home.asp?studioid=12311), and it came with a small workout ball. (It's this one (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000O5MYIC/ref=oh_details_o06_s00_i00) from amazon, I think). You don't need handweights, but they're good to have. I use 2 lb weights in the classes. The DVD shows you how to do the exercises with a regular kitchen/dining room chair. A yoga mat is good to have, too, but again, not 100% necessary.
