Which scooter for small DS1?

I'm buying scooters for both my boys for Jan birthdays. DS1 is small for his age - he'll be 5 in Jan but is the size of most 4 yr olds and he's not very athletic. I'm getting DS2 a Mini Kick. Should I buy DS1 a Mini Kick as well or jump up to the Maxi for him? The other idea was to buy DS1 a Cars version at TRUS for $20 and then get him the Maxi in a fe years. TIA

I'd get the Maxi. He'll have more success on that then he will with the TRU scooter. The Mini is tempting, but will be outgrown.

FWIW, my DS1 is not at all athletic but excels on the Kick scooters.

I second the maxi. It's a bit heavier than the mini but he'll outgrow the mini quickly. The t bar on the maxi is adjustable (no adjustable bar on the mini) so you can put the maxi on the shortest length for now.
