DD is 49" and 52 pounds. I really hate lugging her Frontier on airplanes and such. Does anyone have a recommendation for a seat/booster that won't break my back or the bank? Or do I just need to suck it up and bring the Frontier?

we have been using the $12 cosco LB booster from target. love it!! (and fwiw, dd i sstill in a radian in our main car)

but, you cant actually use them on the plane...dont' need to as they have only a lap belt (and not allowed). but great to travel with and use in the car at the destination.

My dd2's that size and we've been using a backless booster for travel for a couple years already :duck:

Deflates, but a tad hard to buckle up... http://www.amazon.com/BubbleBum-Inflatable-Portable-Booster-Purple/dp/B003GQ0LQ8
And spendy, but kids love not having to sit in/on a carseat... http://www.amazon.com/Safe-Traffic-Systems-GD10201PWB-Travel/dp/B0034CS0FI/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1353874929&sr=8-2&keywords=safe+rider+travel+vest
