What are Bey Blades?

We're sponsoring a family for Christmas and the 8 yo boy asked for only two things: Bey Blades and "Let's Dance" for Wii.

Not being familiar with Bey Blades, I Googled to find out what these are, and there seems to be a million options. Will someone please coach me on what to buy?

DS loves Beyblades. It is basically a spin top, with different pieces that can be changed around.

My suggestion will be to buy the battleground (a plastic container) and at least a couple Beyblades. There are many variations of them. I think similar types will be best for battling (different types / heights might make one at a disadvantage).

Hopefully someone else will also chime in.

There are a TON of options with beyblades. I would suggest going with standard beyblades (not the bey wheelz or ones that light up etc.)

How much do you want to spend?

single beyblades run about $9

2 pack is about $18

then they have gift sets that are around $30 ... has 4 beyblades in it. They also sell sets with the battle arenas for 30 or 40.
