I ask SIL for ideas for her DC. I get a short list for her DD nearly 4.

anything Princess related (no dress up clothes, too many already!)
horses (equestrian type)
itunes gift card

Help. I normally spend about $30. I'm not getting the iTunes gift card (they are giving their kids their old iphones to use as ipods).

So what can I get that is princess related or horses - assuming equestrian type mean no my little pony.

Thanks,
Nicci

Sorry, but the list made me laugh...she doesn't give you much choice or many ideas, does she?! Jeez! The good news is that everything can be found in princess now...does she mean specifically Disney Princess or just princess in general? If it's just general princess then the choices are limitless....just search "princess lego" on amazon and there are quite a few things under $30. Do you have a Disney Store near you? They have Princess out the wazoo :P HTH!

That was my reaction too. I'm going to assume she was in a hurry and typed it on her phone. I should be glad she replied at all, last year both SILs never replied to request for ideas and DH had to talk to his mom.

Her son's list was Lego or iTunes gift card. No advice on WHICH lego. He's in K and DS wasn't into start wars or ninjago then, so I'm going to go with something in the city series.

But yes, it wouldn't hurt to give a little more direction.

My list to her was a little longer, about 8 things and a little more detail.

There's a princess dress-up set at Costco- maybe that could work?

This has been a big hit with DD's friends : http://www.amazon.com/The-Orb-Factory-Sticky-Mosaics/dp/B004SCGXEI/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1353971090&sr=8-6&keywords=my+first+sticky+mosaics
You can give it and something else.

Look at Breyer for horses.
My son got one at age 3 and he really loved it.
