My 4.5 year old loves math and jigsaw puzzles. I'd like to find something non explicitly arithmetic or jigsaw puzzle related that he would like for Christmas. Ideas? We do have a tangram set.

What about a Shut the Box (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shut_the_Box) game? It's an old game, and from a Google search, it looks like there are lots of manufacturers. My mom has one that she picked up a museum gift shop that DS1 likes to play.

Thinkfun (http://www.thinkfun.com/) has some great games. DS1 got Clever Castle several years ago (it's a logical deduction game), but it looks like they don't make that one anymore. I have Chocolate Fix which is the same type of game.

I would also recommend Camelot Jr. and/or Castle Logix at that age. They are puzzle type games (for one person) - logic-y kind of things. My DS loved them at that age, and DH and I found ourselves up late at night doing them too.
