I just broke my 2nd to last red wine glass. They were cheap and have lasted for 5 years, but now it's time to move on. I'm going to ask for some new ones for Christmas, so some combination between good quality and decent price would be great. Any suggestions? I guess I'd like red and white (is there a size that covers both, or do I really need 2 sizes?)

I just bought some unbreakable ones from costco for $19.99 and I love them for everyday. http://reviews.costco.com/2070/11589194/luigi-bormioli-luigi-bormioli-18-piece-beverage-set-reviews/reviews.htm?sort=rating

Crate & Barrel Gala. I only have white wine glasses but I have had them since 2003 when we got married and only one or two have broken.

I have the Tillie's from Crate & Barrel for everyday. I love the color of them and they always make me happy when I use them. They're only sold at Christmas though.

I love Schott Zwiesel glasses. They are more durable so they can be put in the dishwasher, yet they still are very thin and delicate and great for drinking wine.

Love mine too! Was just looking them up. Bought mine at a super high end restaurant, The Herbfarm, which is what they use

i use highball glasses. me + drinking + stemware...does not equal good things.

still, highball glasses are a big step up. i drank wine from plastic cups that said 'charleston riverdogs' on them for years. i'm a classy southern girl, you betcha...

I recently bought some based on this article in WSJ:

I bought the Nachtmann Vivendi Bordeaux from winestuff.com which are the same as the Riedel's at Target.

We have been using Riedel's ouverture series which is their entry series and have been quite happy with them. I plan on buying these as well from Amazon, likely. These are the 8 oz ones while the vivendis are the 27oz ones. We like to have in both sizes.

HTH!

:yeahthat: I got a set of 8 break resistant glasses (all the same size) at Costco that we love! I can't remember the brand, but when i googled, this came up and it looks like what we have. they are large and tapered in at the top and very lightweight to hold.

I don't know if we have the same thing Blisstwins posted, because ours are all the same size and break-resistant. ours were about $20 though, IIRC.
