today is the day that we should be celebrating DH having been home for a year. After any deployment, reintegration is always the hardest part and we always celebrate making it through that first year back.

Instead, the internet wasn't connecting right on his end, we got tiny snippets of IMs before having to give up, and we are facing the holidays apart and another 6 months of this.

I miss him so so much and it just makes me sad today.

That's all.

 I cannot even imagine how difficult this is for all of you. Wishing you a 2013 that brings you more time together as a family.

I cannot even imagine, and I don't know how you do it.

We appreciate your sacrifices, but I wish there was more I could say to give you comfort. We're here for you.

I can't even begin to describe how comforting it is to have this spot to "let it all out". The BBB is definitely my safe haven to be able to come and vent, ask questions, etc. as I don't feel comfortable going many other places a lot of times.

It's nice to be able to just write it out and sort of "move on" as best I can with my day. :)

I think we so often get caught up in the hectic-ness of the holiday season and I know I am guilty of not just slowing down enough to appreciate that I do get to be with my family at Christmas. It hurts my heart to think how often I take that for granted. I've said it here before, but will say it again - thank you to you and your family (and other BBB families) who sacrifice so very much in service to our country. It truly is appreciated.

I am going to make a special point tonight when we are saying prayers with the kids, to encourage them to pray for "Mrs. Laura" and her babies who are missing their daddy tonight.

Hugs to you.

Please feel like you can come here to vent as often as you need to. I am sure it can be hard to find places to do that irl as a military spouse.

You can definitely vent all you want here! I am sorry you won't be spending the holidays with your spouse. I can't imagine what that must be like for you and your family. I grew up an Army brat myself and holidays and birthdays were often hard as my dad was often not there. Heck we even moved one Christmas and arrived on base Christmas Eve. BUT we were together that year so at least we had that. AS an adult I haven't had to face that. So my hats off to you. My cousin is in the Army and away right now as well, missing his family just as so many are.

I will be thinking of you and hoping you guys can enjoy the holidays even with your loved one so far away.

Thank you for YOUR service to our country as well as your spouses! :)
