We received a hand me down DVD of the Backyardigans and my oldest, (age 3) is OBSESSED! We watch it repeatedly. I'm just curious because I had never heard anything about the show. Or seen it on the Television. Does anyone have any opinions? Good or Bad? Is it possible to obtain more DVD's anywhere? I should probably know if it's on netflix but DH hogs that TV. Thank you so much in advance for any thoughts on this show. I love it and the dance moves and different personalities but I'm just curious as to how other moms view it.

It was always well liked in our family but the kids didn't watch it much battery each had shows they liked better but if it was on, they were happy. I liked their adventures. :). I swear I see it on my Fios on demand.

LOVE LOVE LOVE the Backyardigans. Sad that DS2 isn't as into them as he used to be. The episode "Race Around the World" was DH and my favorite of all!

Including the Race Around the World episode! It's not doily lacing day....

DD is just rediscovering them on Netflix and we watch them on Nick Jr. We had/ have way too many DVDs of them too!!

Thank you!!! I feel silly even asking for other's opinions because I already love it. The music, dancing, storylines and you said it perfectly that it encourages imaginative play. That so describes my daughter. Completely fun loving and playful and way into pretending. Keep any thoughts coming though! I have NETFLIX for my WI? I will have to search and see if they are on there. thank you!!!

We love the Backyardigans, DD1 especially. We have the CDs and we would often forget to change the CDs when the kids weren't in the car. In fact, the husband has been known to sing along and that says a lot.

I love backyardigans. It's so clever. It's definitely one of the better preschool shows out there.

:yeahthat: We :heartbeat: it, great show. We have a ton of DVDs and DS does notget tired of watching it. He had a Backyardigans themed 4th bday party, even. He's watched since almost 2 yo, and he still loves them.

It's our most viewed show on Netflix instant--my 3 y/o DS loves it. The Action Elves Save Christmas is a really cute episode, too (Conan O'Brien plays Santa!)

We love Backyardigans here, have for close to 7 years now. :) I have two of the CD's in my car and that is the only music the kids want to listen to. I remember seeing the actual DVD's at Target, but can't recall seeing them recently (haven't been looking specifically).

For the preschool age of 2/1/2 to 5 we really liked it.It was soo much better than some of the alternatives like Wonder Pets. DD1 and us parents also liked Handy Manny, Dora, Diego, and Olivia at that age as well; although Olivia catered more to her from ages 4-6. Every so often she will still watch Backyardigans if it happens to be on.
