It's in the air not the ground, but I've seen these heavily advertised this year and they seem to be a really popular toy:

I can't link on my kindle but maybe the Kid Galaxy Morphibians Shark? Its an Rc car that can go outside and through puddles. Punkin has had one for several years and its really great.
