I have been selling a lot on Craigslist and I am getting dozens of emails a day like this:
"Hiya, is your item still available? I don't normally do this but you sounded cute in your listing and I'm drawn into you. I live close by and up for anything. My only concern is that you might be a scammer as CL is filled with them. So if you're indeed real, can we chat on my profile page? It's the safest way and extremely discreet. I'll message you as soon as I see you sign in! ;)
Blah blah blah...
I apologize to hassle you...life is too short so I had to give this a chance. I think you'll be astonished, see you!"
Complete with pics of women's barely clad rear ends and cleavage. Given that it is being sent it follows that some idiots are falling for it. Because it is so believable that you can sound cute and interesting from ads for appliances and dated unused iPods and such junk?!
Since they come from totally different emails blocking them doesn't stop it. And since they cut and pasted my craigslisted anony emails I can't just click the Craigslist link to report them. And because I posted a lot of stuff, I am getting a lot of them.
And T can no longer log into that generic email account which I have all
of us use for anonymous email on website sign ins etc.
Not a big deal but a hassle nonetheless. This may be the end of me and Craigslist selling for a loooonnnng while.
