My friend Ellen Potter penned a 3-book series called "Olivia Kidney". ;) It is very different...lots of imagination.

Here is the first: http://www.amazon.com/Olivia-Kidney-Ellen-Potter/dp/0142402346

The second is "Olivia Kidney Stops for No One" (previously Exit Academy) and the third is "Olivia Kidney and the Secret Beneath the City". The second was reprinted by another publisher, who wanted to change the title (Ellen did not have a say) hence the negative reviews. :(

My DD just read Whatever After by Sarah Mlynowski. She really enjoyed it and has been hard to please lately! The 2nd book comes out in January and a 3rd in May. I've heard good things about the Goddess Girls series also.

The Penderwicks! Has she read this series. I read one with my daughter for a family book club and then she went on and read the next two. We both enjoyed.

Punkin's favorites are the Lemonade War series (next book coming out in January and he can't wait!) and the Warriors series by Erin Hunter.
