I am really proud of how our cards turned out this year and wanted to share. I missed out on the thread a couple of weeks ago because I'm just getting around to getting ours done. Couldn't figure out how to post it from shutterfly, so I scanned it.

Love it! I'd share mine, but I'm still waiting for them to be delivered. Yup...I just ordered them last night (it took that long to get a decent family photo!) And after the thread of family pic vs pic of kids seemed pretty 50/50, DH acted like I was crazy to be thinking of only sending pics of DD. ;)

Citymama, keep in mind, my kids are a lot older than yours. We have some AWFUL years behind us! Also, there were many, many shots that didn't make the cut. They all know how to pose and stand still by now, but there were lots with tight, forced smiles and that "dead in the eyes" stare when they are "smiling" but not really smiling at all.

And that's not mentioning the slew that I had to cross off the list because these were taken post-Thanksgiving dinner by my SIL and nobody told me I had a total muffin top going on, emphasized by an unforgiving shirt.

I got our cards from shutterfly. This is the first year I have sprung for the nicer cards on cardstock with the matte finish. So glad I did.

Could you save it from the email then upload to snapfish? I had to upload my scan to an album on shutterfly. I didn't know any other way to do it.

Here is ours! There was really no way to erase all our names so the top eraser blocking our last name is the best we could do.

FWIW per the suggestions I got from everyone in my photo post a few weeks ago I tried the photo in black n white and DH didn't like it much. Thankfully we found a template that worked well with the photos. I ordered these the night before DD1 broke her leg and honestly had I not done it then I highly doubt a Xmas card would have gotten done!

ETA: this photo was taken at a xmas tree farm that my family owned--the land where it is had been in my family since 1830, until my father and uncle sold it to a lovely family in 1995. We got our tree there this year (our first year back in midwest in 10 years). DS loved the farm. It was a little bittersweet, as I couldn't stop thinking about my grandparents who lived there.

I'm loving everyone's cards--I just went the cheap-o costco route, so it's so neat to see all of the clever and well-designed ones. BBB parents have great eyes for design and friggin' adorable children!

It's a pain being stuck with her limited designs but there is no way we can get a good picture of the hooligans without a pro!!!!!!

I couldn't figure out how to get a copy of the Costco card other than a screenshot (and their preview is really bad quality) so I took a pic instead. I am not that happy with the photo (JCP deal) - next year may consider using a professional and getting pics outdoors.

For the first time this year, our photographer offered a deal on buying the digital files, so we were able to use whoever we wanted (I used shutterfly). Typically, you have to order at least $300 in prints before she will let you buy the digital files. Her templates for cards are also very limited, so I was glad to have more options this year. We definitely have to use a pro to get a good shot, and even with that, we couldn't get a pic of DS and DD together. They just would not go for it.

Our photographer offers a holiday "mini" session and charges about 1/2 of her normal session fee, so we take advantage of it and get our family pic done. We also are able to manage a couple of shots of each kid. Has worked out pretty well for us so far.

Thanks! I did a fall photo shoot with a professional for my DH's birthday and took the image from there. The only way I managed to get my act together in time, frankly!

I am loving seeing all these and it really puts me in the holiday spirit! :love5:

I would look around for someone who includes the digital images in their package price. I spent SO much 2years ago with Sprout Photo because after the mini session I just had to have the digital copies because they were fantastic photos. $500 later, dh was ready to kill me. I won't go to someone who doesn't include the digital images any more.
