For those who EBF- what age do you introduce snacks like puffs/ cheerios? How do you know that your baby is ready and won't gag? TIA

We introduced Puffs and Cheerios after DS was already eating solids (first purees but quickly moved to very soft solid food like steamed veggies), so we already knew he wouldn't gag, puffs dissolve very quickly once they put them in their mouth. He was probably 9-10 months, IIRC when we gave him puffs for the first time.

Watch some baby led weaning videos on youtube t get an idea of how it can go.

We started with cheerios and puffs at around 7 months, after we'd introduced cereal/purees.

We do a modified form of BLW but DS can't handle Cheerios or puffs - too dry. The meltaway ones work
