A roommate left me a nice LLB wool blanket when she moved to HI. I didn't really use it, so I donated it last week.
While looking for throws, I just discovered it was this one! http://www.llbean.com/llb/shop/22955?feat=throw-SR0&page=hudson-s-bay-point-blanket&attrValue_0=White/Candy&productId=5185 It was a full/queen, so it was $479. Gulp. Tempted to run by the thrift shop and rebuy it, lol.

I hate that feeling. But if you weren't really using it, just take it as a deduction on your taxes. And think of how nice it will be for someone who will use it.
eta that looks WAY overpriced anyway... ;)

:yeahthat:

Agreed. Regardless of the price, if you weren't using it, let it be. It can be someone else's fab find at the thrift store. :)

Oh no. I had one like it in college and have dreamed of getting it back.

Maybe one of the lucky BBB thrift store shoppers will buy it and post about their great find!

If it helps, they're selling for under $100 on eBay.

My gracious! I can't imagine paying that much for a blanket!

OP, if you really want it back, I would call the thrift store and tell them you made a mistake.

My parents once donated two items that were mistakes. They donated to Salvation Army, so a big distribution center, but the staff has a process of looking for items donated by mistake. My dad got his item back, whatever it was (shoes?), but the other item (a special Norwegian sweater which I wanted) was not found.

So, there is hope it can be recovered- not a lot, but some. Call wherever you donated it and see what can be done. At least it's a bigger item, so hopefully easier to find.

I got one of those as a wedding gift from a Canadian friend. It wasn't the LL Bean one, but another version produced in Canada. I donated mine as well because it made me sneeze.

Ah!! That's a good reason to put it behind me and move on...(I recently did allergy testing and they were shocked I'd never been to the allergist before!)

Maybe I'll just leave it and stick with non-allergic type blankets.

Would you have used it more if you realized it was a $450 blanket?
