My vegetarian (but eats fish) sister is coming over to "Christmas dinner" that I'm hosting on Sunday. My meal will include a vegetarian version of the chicken rolls that I'm making but I'm also considering my stepmom who is trying to eat low carb. Hence, I'm thinking some kind of seafood will be nice for both of them. The chicken rolls are pretty carby and step mom loves fish and since sister can also eat that, I thought that'd be good.

Anyone have a good seafood dish that they would serve with a more traditional christmas dinner?

TIA!

My DH's mother cooked a whole brown trout that she displayed in it's entirety. It was for Easter lunch and was wonderful. She precut portions and had lemon and all sorts of herbs. Easy to make and looked very impressive.

Shrimp scampi was always part of my family's traditional Christmas Eve dinner. It's pretty easy to throw together and bake in the oven.

I'm having stuffed sole to go with my ham and all the sides for my Christmas Eve dinner.

Perhaps that's something you can do?

I think fish with oyster stuffing is a traditional Christmas food in some areas/cultures. I bet you could find some great recipes googling "traditional Christmas seafood."

Crab cakes are a traditional holiday food in my family. So is oyster stew but I can't stand it so I never ever make it. I don't even like to smell it or look at it. Crab, lobster, salmon and shrimp all sound great to me.
