We generally don't use non-stick, but I like having a 9-10 and an 11-12" skillet around to cook omelets in. The Meyer aluminum that I bought about 10 years ago is at the end of it's useful lifetime.

Any recommendations for good ones in a low to moderate price range? We have a gas range.

Thanks!

We have been happy with our Calphalon Pro non stick, but I actually like the one Circulon pan I have a little better so if I need to replace the Calphalon I might get some Circulon instead. We have had the Circulon pan for 11 or 12 years, and the Calphalon for almost 10.

walmart has awesome prices on the tramontina brand. I went with that brand based on recs on here.

I believe it's the brand recommended by Cooks magazine for the best SS for your money.

Cast iron. I don't eat eggs anymore, but as a teenager I made many, many omelets in my dad's cast iron skillet. Well seasoned, it was amazing. Super safe, too!

We've have a few PFOA/PTFE free nonsticks. None were great. The best by a mile is this one: http://www.amazon.com/Beka-Eco-logic-100-Percent-Eco-Hardened-Aluminum-Bekadur-Ceramica-Nonstick/dp/B002UPQ4CQ/ref=cm_lmf_tit_19 Not as easy to clean as teflon, but easier than cast iron for sure.

I buy a super cheapie nonstick when I go camping and honestly? That's the best for eggs. I'm tempted to just keep buying a new bad-for-the-world nonstick a few times a month. But teflon manufacturing is so very nasty.

Thank you all!

I am really, truly looking for non-stick. We use cast-iron or SS for almost everything, but I am not happy with how omelets come out in either. A long, long time I ago I worked as a short order cook and as a result, there are a few things that I expect I will always prefer to make in a heavy-duty non-stick pan.

I am looking at these online:

I bought this Excalibur set last week to replace a worn out pan. I used two of the pans for brunch today. One for French toast and one for omelette. No sticking. And for today seemed as good for cooking as my 2-3 yo calphalon one. Don't know how they will hold up.
