My principal is retiring this year. He has been my boss for the last 12 years when we opened our current elementary building.

The staff is make a scrapbook of "memories."
The problem is I SUCK at putting my thoughts down. I am not good at creative writing. Anytime they ask for this stuff I don't do it but I really want to.

Any ideas?
Is a poem dumb?

Most people are writing sincere stuff along with a funny moment.

I think I'd stick with something short and sweet that says something you'll miss about them and wish them a relaxing retirement.

I've written about it here before, but my go-to suggestion for a retirement gift is a Speaksake. We did one for my dad's retirement last year and it was a huge, huge hit- still talked about frequently.

can you write a brief story or something the person did with/for you that was memorable.

"I will always remeber your kindness and support when I was working on better understanding special needs children" etc
